The Scholasticum to open for 2025/26 Academic Year

The Scholasticum, an institute for the revival of the Scholastic method of study in Theology, Philosophy and Biblical Studies, as it was practiced at the University of Paris in the 13th century, is organizing to open in the Fall of 2025 offering courses throughout the 2025-2026 academic year.

For this reason, we are asking interested Academics who would like to teach with us, to take a look at our previous Annuario for 2016 (see link below) to get a better idea of our methodology and approach and the topics our course structure covers.

We intend to be a mixed institute, headquartered in Italy, of courses offered in person and telematically, both by instructors who are present in person or telematically, to students who are present in person or telematically.

This will enable us to offer students everywhere courses by the finest specialists throughout the world.

For this reason, we ask all to make our initiative known to specialists in the fields of medieval theology, philosophy and biblical studies, medieval paleography and both the Scholastics and pre-Scholastics associated with Peter Lombard and his Sentences, so that we might be able to recruit highly qualified specialists to give our students the best training in Scholasticism of the High Middle Ages, according to the findings of the latest research available.

The Scholasticum is an academic effort begin in 2016 by a group of scholars at Bagnoregio, Italy, who met on Academia.edu.
